Tourism In Katmandu valley


             The Katmandu valley is the first and ultimate destination for many tourists.Kathmandu is the capital city. The only international airport-Tribhuvan International Airport –lies here. Moreover it is linked with two other medieval cities-Patan and Bhaktapur. Other notable sites are like Banepa, Dhulikhel, Nuwakot; Tatopani can be visited only in transit to Katmandu. Mountain flights or ballooning are also available in Katmandu. Thus most of tourists begin their journey from Katmandu valley and often end there.
           The Katmandu valley has many attractive places .Besides, being a capital city it has all the central and regional offices. Even the trekker’s mountaineers rafter like to stay in the valley due to comfort and security it provides. The internal tourists too visit the Katmandu valley for trade, official work, political activities and pilgrimage. Some affluent people have an apartment or bungalow in the Katmandu valley they go there stay for sometime and raise heavy rents from the tenant.  Other goes there for sophisticated medical treatment, higher studies or training. Tourist enjoyed playing gulf, visiting casinos, viewing arts and sculpture of three cities. They enjoyed watching sunrise from Nagarkot.






Nepalese tourism-Importance and potentials


          Nepal has attracted lots of tourists every year and developed tourism as one of the major trades. People with a little knowledge and money are running different industries related with tourism. For example people runs different communication centre, deals with gift and cards, running cyber cafĂ© and running different hotels and restaurant. Indeed tourism has created lots of opportunities. First it fetches a lot of foreign currencies through export –oriented industries. In 1997 alone it earned $293000000. Second, it promotes many related industries like handicrafts. Above all, it creates several job opportunities even through internal tourism. Running a hotel lodge  or restaurant or different transport and communication services, guiding tourist , working as translator and interpreter ,selling handicrafts, carrying loads etc are some of the many jobs that tourism provide. For example, it provided jobs to 256000 people in 1997.so there is great importance of tourism in Nepal. If there was no tourist industry then most of the people wouldn’t get the job opportunities. Therefore we should always welcome the tourist and show the honesty and kindness towards them. We get chances to know their culture and traditions, languages and also we can share our feelings and share the ideas with them.

Man since antiquity is wanderlust. That is he loves to travel. He believes that”travel broadens mind”. Indeed visiting a place is worth reading score of book on it. No mad or gypsies wander for food. Pilgrims trekked uphill to meet god or meditate. Explorer sailed far and wide for land and other riches .Modern tourist visit places to know about local people and culture. Broadly speaking anyone visiting place for health, holidays, trade, conference etc can be called as tourist.

People like to travel abroad. They visit countries which have many places of interest. Tourism is the greatest industry in Nepal. It is open for the tourist all over the world. It fetches the highest revenue and boots up national economy to a great extent. The legend is that the first tourist or traveler to modern Nepal was Ekai Kawaguchi of Japan. According to the ministry of culture, tourism and civil aviation tourist visit Nepal for different purposes. Such as for spending their holidays, mounteering trekking, pilgrimage, official visit and conference.
